Before graduating to her own Boutique Law Firm, Daura Dutour began her career at Cabinet Lissade a Band 1 Law Firm established in 1977, according to Chambers and Partners, where she became a senior associate. Daura Dutour is accustomed to managing complex legal negotiations and managing case lifecycle. She is equally comfortable in the courtroom and in private arbitration; and has experience in both the public and private sector, as well as with numerous multilateral institutions. Daura Dutour also engages with numerous institutions of the Government of Haiti, including the Centre for the Facilitation of Investment (CFI), the Ministry of Commerce, IBESR (Office of Social Protection), the Prime Minister’s Office, and the President’s Office.
Prior to joining Cabinet Lissade, Daura Dutour worked for USAID’s PROJUSTICE PROJECT as the Pretrial Detention Coordinator, provide judiciary assistance to detainees in situations of pretrial detention at the National Penitentiary of Haiti. She additionally worked for the Prime Minister’s office as the Legal Advisor in 2010, and as a legal intern at GIDE LOYRETTE NOUEL in Paris, and KURZBAN KURZBAN WEINGER TETZELI AND PRATT, in Miami.
Daura Dutour was born and raised in Port-au-Prince. She graduated from the Université Paris Sorbonne with a Master of Tax Law in June 2009, and received an additional Masters from the Université Paris XI in Public Procurement Contracts, Procedures and EU Law. She additionally graduated from Cornell University’s Program in Corporate Law and Governance and was admitted to the Port-au- Prince Bar in June 2013. Daura Dutour is also involved in charity work, having served as the Legal Clinic Speaker at the Haiti Entrepreneurship Camp implemented by Lufthansa and the Rotary Club of Wall Street.
